The Growth And Development Of Head Lice

Lice go through three life cycles: egg, nymph and adult. The lice egg is also known as a nit. The nits are tiny, oval shaped and cling to the hair shaft. If you try to move the nit it will not budge. The nymph is a baby louse. It cannot lay eggs but it can crawl rapidly. The adult louse lays eggs and survives for about one month.
